How would San Juan Island look two decades from now? That's twenty more years of petroleum depletion, climate change, environmental stress, and increasing world population. I'm trying to look on the bright side here, and tell stories from the point of view of the people who are trying to make a difference, who have dreams of a better future in the midst of the hard times.
I'm writing in my own voice, reporting daily activities here at my home, Thornbush Farm, only with a twist: it is actually the year 2027 and my dreams of how to make a sustainable living on San Juan Island are advanced 20 years. So is the mess the world is in.
